Children who play computer or video games for about an hour a day are more sociable, happy and more active, revealed a study conducted by the University of Oxford.

They took into consideration children aged 10 to 15 years and discovered that playing for about 50 minutes a day can be very helpful. The study involves about five thousand children, and compared those who do not play video games and they all spent different periods of time playing various games such as the Nintendo Wii and Sony Play Stations or computer games.

They concluded that: "Children who play video games for about an hour were more regular than those who had never played video games, or those who play three or more hours of games."

  "Those who play games for about an hour had higher social and were more satisfied with their lives. They also had fewer emotional problems and society, and were more active than other groups. "

To children who play video games constantly, for more than three hours a day-regarded negative or harmful effects. The study found that playing video games has positive effects compared to watching television. Games offer a wide range of challenges, opportunities for exploration, relaxation and socializing with peers.
